Caryatids of Amphiboles

Hello dear  friends of extravagant.

This is about the project which I recently finished and I present to you all the process from the beginning until the end of it. This project was a group project. My partners were three classmates of mine, Andrea Christophi, Christina Xenofontos and Antri Timotheou.

To start with, we had to decide our company name. During lot of research we decide to name the company CTWOA or in French CDEUXA. This particular name comes from a combination of the the first letter of our first names. We agreed as a group that our company would sell expensive and luxurious pieces of clothing. Our target group would be mainly people of 20-40 years old and mainly people from a creative background.

In order to design our clothes, we had an inspiration from the Caryatids of Amphiboles. The reasons we choose Caryatids are the following:
It is an issue that is in the news lately
It is based on our culture.
Evelyn Kazantzoglou. Adored by many and I would easily say that she could be my muse, she inspires me. She is a special woman. Her colors reminds me the colours of a Caryatid. I spoke with Evelyn and we agreed to meet for a coffee at Nicosia on December 2.

She is a very beautiful woman and she has her own fashion blog , host at MAD TV Cyprus, radio producer at Deejay Radio 93,5fm. Honestly I did not expect to be so simple and so sociable. She made me very comfortable. She advised me at a professional and a personal level in order to be better as a person and as a fashion designer.

For the final result we used knitted and satin in the same colors.

The knit was made like old years in the traditional way. The photo shooting took place in the castle of Larnaca because it is a historical place like Amphiboles. I researched the castle of Larnaca and I took photos of the interior and the exterior of it.

I researched the makeup style and wool and I made the following investigation.

The result of our work is the following.

Photographer: Charis Evagorou
Model: Andria Xenofontos

On December 18 we presented our work as a group. In order to achieve that we used three models thanks to Ioannis Mallas who helped us find those models from Umbrella Fashion Modelling School. I also want to thank MARPOLINE HEALTH company which accepted my proposal and came to help us with the make-up and also my favorite aesthetic Maria Lambrou. The hair styling was leaded by Christina Xenophontos and I have to say that I really liked it.

I also want to thank the store Extreme Ladies Shoes. They accepted to sponsor our presentation with pairs of shoes.

As a team in order to look like a team we decided to wear all four girls more or less the same clothes (black pants or black skirt accompanied with white shirt). Also Andrea created labels with our names on them in order to give to the presentation a more professional look.

Soon will come the photography presentation held on December 18 and so you will be able to get a more complete picture.

CYPRUS FASHION DAYS

CYPRUS FASHION DAYS

Hello dear friends of extravagant!!!!!!
I had the opportunity to take part in CYPRUS FASHION DAYS with models of Umbrella Fashion Modeling School and held in Galu Seaside.
I presented something that I haven’t shown before because I believe in fashion industry, we should not repeat. i created an outfit for young girls, which is black leather with silver chains to indicate something wild and rock.
For this reason I chose a brunette model with long dark hair. I wanted a simple hairstyle like a straight ponytail to play with bold makeup and dark purple lipstick. I added a glove with the chain, which made her sexier. I choose to present an outfit with different tights each leg because I believe this detail is part of me and I think that detail makes the difference!

Thanks a lot:

AlexanderTasou-Hi Tek Designs

AlexanderTasou, designer of Hi Tek Designs started what he calls his "project"from as early as the 80's, bringing industrial design and surrealism to hisaccessories.

Sunglasses, hats, masks, belts, watches, clocks, bags or briefcases, any of his designs or accessories, are never "in"or "out" of fashion.
Alexander's timeless designs can be worn byeither gender throughout decades and will always make a statement, will alwayslook ahead of time, the designs edgy and stand out.

This designer likes to give different uses anddifferent magnitude to objects of their otherwise conventional size and use. Hewould use handcuffs as the frame for sunglasses or a blown up corkscrew as abar stool, a pyramid as a watch case.
Integrating the past, even the ancient, with thedistant future, nowadays called "Steampunk" is Alexander's passion.

Alexander made his "debut"in the 80's when he entered The London Clothes Show in Kensington with his collection of surreal Telephone Handbags, which  had the receiver of a Bakelite telephone as the handle and the dial as the buckle.

In an interview that he was asked:
How he got the idea to make the phones bags;
And said:
"Around 1987 I decided to buy all the old phones CYTA, disassemble them and give them life in a bag. When I did this, many then thought that I am crazy !! But it works kiolas..An churn headset and associations with your phone, you can talk kanonika..Meta puts the back. The secret is in the compounds "

His equally surreal collection of watches followed the success of the telephone handbags.
Today, a museum of watches in France, Ville de Besancon carries a range of Hi Tek Alexander watches as part of their permanent collection.

Alexander's designs have been used by the film industry, mainly in science fiction films, and his accessories used by famous artists in the music industry either for performance, video shoot or magazine covers.
He custom produced outfits in leather and metal for pop stars and celebrities.
Some famous names include Natalie Cole, Anita Baker, Yvone Chaka Chaka, Soul to Soul, C&C Music Factory, Milli Vanilli, Take That.
His most famous work is in the promotional teaser video clip of Michael Jackson's HISTORY.
Well known films which used Hi Tek Designs is Judge Dredd and Demolition Man.

AWARDS
Pepsi cola award for best illustration.
Honourable Mention by Canadian Interiors - Best of Canada for Hospitality.

From the year 2002 till 2007 Alexander had to put his "project" on hold because of a serious injury causing temporary incapacitation. During this time he spent his life in seclusion painting and creating metal sculptures.

Favorite materials: All kinds of metals. He says "People loathed plastic"

I and other students of Alexander College we will have the honor to know Hi Tek Alexander on 30 October 2014, at 11:00 am, to give us helpful advice from his own experiences.
